The apps process no data on our servers
This is the key point: everything you create in a Sortylendo app — photos, notes, codes, lists — stays on your device alone. There is no user account, no sign-in and no transfer to us or to any third party. We have no access to this data and can neither view nor restore it. If you uninstall an app or clear its site data, the content is gone for good. Every app has an export function for backups; the resulting file stays with you.
Visiting the website
The website is hosted by STRATO AG, Pascalstrasse 10, 10587 Berlin, Germany. When a page is requested, the host processes technically necessary access data in server log files: IP address, date and time, the address requested, the amount of data transferred, browser type and operating system. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; the legitimate interest lies in secure and trouble-free operation. This data is deleted automatically once it is no longer needed for that purpose. It is not combined with any other data.
No cookies, no analytics — videos only on click
The website sets no cookies for visitors, uses no analytics or tracking services, and embeds no external fonts, maps or scripts. That is why there is no cookie banner — when you open the page, there is nothing to consent to. All files are served from sortylendo.com.
The videos on the home page are the one exception. At first you only see a preview image, and that image too is served from our own server. Only when you tap it is the video loaded from YouTube. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. From that moment YouTube receives your IP address and may set cookies; if you are signed in to Google, the request may be linked to your account. We use the youtube-nocookie.com variant, which collects less data. The legal basis is your consent given by tapping, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. As long as you do not tap, nothing goes to Google.
Contacting us
If you send us an e-mail, we process the information in your message in order to answer it. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where a contract or its initiation is concerned, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. We delete the message once it is no longer needed and no retention obligation applies.
Obtaining the apps through Google Play
If you download an app from Google Play, Google processes data as its own controller. The same applies to purchasing the Pro version: payment runs through Google Play and we receive no payment data. Google’s privacy policy applies.
Your rights
You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21). Please write to the address above. As we have no technical access to your app content, these rights relate to the data arising when you visit the website or contact us.
Right to lodge a complaint
You may lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is the Landesbeauftragter für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit Baden-Württemberg, Lautenschlagerstrasse 20, 70173 Stuttgart, Germany.
